Betweenie Makes another Fishtake? PDF Print E-mail

Written by ReBle

While the dancehall scene recovers from a "musical" recession, Betweenie man seems to be struggling from the after effects of this recession and without realising it(or he does?) he became the absolute embodiment of "fail". How far can one cry for attention? The self-proclaimed king of the dancehall just wont stop, from running behind Vybz kartel, to doing songs promoting "bleached out" faces and bigging up "pencil-foot" jean effigies. And when we thought it was time for us to breath a sigh of relief, he, Once again decides to make another fishtake and voices on the yet to be released "Brutal Conflict Rhythm" from alliance(young alliance) artist/producer "Anarchie" from active Productions.
Alliancefilife.com could not get in touch with anarchie but a close source claims that he(anarchie) is not happy about this. He did not give the go ahead for betweenie man to voice on his rhythm and also apologizes for any misconceptions that this whole incident might have caused.
The Brutal Conflict rhythm features artists like Anarchie, Assailant, Iyara and veteran artist Sizzla Kalonji. The official release date will be announced soon.

One of dancehall’s leading artist David Constantine Brooks better known as Mavado has recently terminated his contract with VP Records on March 1st. Mavado’s manager Julian Jones-Griffith relayed the information to the Jamaica Star yesterday.

Mr Jones-Griffith explained: "The agreement has been terminated so he's not obligated to deliver any more albums. This is the first time an artiste has managed to get out of a deal wid dem ... it's an eye-opener for the business that anyone could get out of a deal with VP."

The singjay has been signed with VP Records from since 2006 and during this period produced 2 galbums, GANGSTA FOR LIFE: THE SYMPHONY DAVID BROOKS in 2007 and MR. BROOKS… A BETTER TOMORROW in march 2009.

Mr. Jones-Griffith has been edging the public on his news releases and last night the 8th of March he posted to his twitter:
AllianceJamaica: Ok memba wen I sed I av a biig announcement 2 make a few weeks back.I'm gona make it in 10 mins. Its a shocker!”
He then proceded with his statement exactly 10 minutes later and posted,
AllianceJamaica: Mavado is no longer signed to VP Records, the deal has been officially terminated. We are currently exploring the many options b4 us :D >>> (then cont) “It has huge implications 4 the biz. #1 reggae label cannot keep the #1 artist on their roster”
